Our Audiologist
Our audiologist, Matt Malcolm has over 20 years of experience, both in the UK and New Zealand in a variety of hearing care environments; independent hearing aid practices, high street chains and NHS hospitals.
Having access to the latest diagnostic and hearing aid technology, our experience and a keen desire to provide every single client with optimum hearing care ensure quality outcomes.
He has lived in the Coleraine area since 2015 and is married with 4 children.

Ear Wax Removal
Ear wax can cause blockages in the ear canal, which can be uncomfortable and cause a loss of hearing.
North Coast Hearing will make a thorough examination of the ear canals, taking pictures so you can see the extent of the wax build up. We have a number of options to remove wax, including microsuction, manual instruments and water irrigation. The course of treatment will be discussed and agreed upon. Pictures are taken after the procedure to show the difference.
Our promotional charge for ear wax removal is £60, regardless of which method is used. If no (or very little) wax is found in the ear, then we will discuss with you why you might have been feeling "blocked up", perform some tests and advise on what to do next. The charge in this instance is £25.

Hearing Health Checks
If you are not sure if you have a hearing loss or you've never had a hearing test before, our free 30 minute hearing health check could be what you are looking for. In this appointment, we will ask some background questions, examine your ears and perform a screening test of your hearing.
Following this, we will discuss the results and then recommend the next course of action.

Hearing Assessments
North Coast Hearing will listen first! Nobody knows your situation better than you and targeted questions will lead and guide towards optimum diagnostic tests for your circumstances as part of your hearing assessment.
This comprehensive assessment will allow your audiologist to understand your hearing needs in detail and explain everything to you and recommend if any further investigation or treatment is required by a medical professional. If the tests confirm a hearing loss that could benefit from hearing aids, your audiologist will then work with you to find the ultimate product to suit your budget, technology and lifestyle.
We have a nominal charge of £50 for a hearing assessment but should you proceed to purchase hearing aids this will be deducted from that cost.

As an independently owned local business, North Coast Hearing is able to offer solutions from all the manufacturers - which means that the most appropriate solution for you will be chosen.

North Coast Hearing offers on-going advice and a supportive relationship with an experienced audiologist for individuals who purchased their private hearing aids elsewhere but are dissatisfied with the service and support available.
Our Service & Support Packages are designed to provide a higher level of care and support for those who bought their hearing aid from another audiology clinic or supplier.
We offer an initial consultation and suggest a personalized package of support, retesting, and hearing aid maintenance.
